Your new stained-glass piece has been cleaned and polished and should last a long time against UV light and dust. Light buffing with microfiber cloth is recommended to clean. Should you need to clean the glass in the future you can use a mild glass cleaner without AMMONIA or other harsh chemicals. Solder is made from tin and lead and naturally oxidizes overtime therefore the polish applied is to prevent or delay tarnishing effects. Using ammonia or harsh cleaners (even vinegar or salts) will strip patina and cause rapid oxidation of the solder. Using a polish made for stained-glass or carnauba wax can help protect the finish for longer.
Note: Due to the chemical nature of copper patinas, the oxidation is quicker and therefore the shiny copper patina doesn't last as long as silver or black finishes, therefore looks more like an antique finish overtime. If your piece starts to "tarnish" you can buff and repolish but rubbing to hard or with abrasive cloth will rub off the patina.
*Melamine sponges ARE considered abrasive enough to rub off patina.
Stained glass solder is made from tin and lead. Lead is harmful if ingested. None of the stained-glass pieces are made with the intention to hold food or drink and should not be used for this, washing hands after handling is recommended. Copper and Sage Glass uses mixed media for their art pieces and are not made for external application or use. All pieces should be placed inside and out of the elements.
